Cooperation between Thinking Circular® and DLR-PT agreed

Davos, where conventional wisdom is at the end,

systemic thinking and science based consulting is at the beginning

This year’s World Economic Forum (WEF) in the “Global Village” Davos invites over 3,000 participants from business, politics and society. International corporations and heads of governments meet representatives of civil society and environmental activists like Greta Thunberg. The WEF is therefore much more than a meeting point for important decision-makers. As an international organization with more than 800 employees, each of its events offers a forum to address global and social challenges and to develop solution concepts. Thinking Circular® and the project management agency at the German Aerospace Center (DLR-PT) support the WEF on the basis of scientific analyzes in searching and developing future-oriented solutions.

The multitude of systemic challenges such as climate change, the extinction of species, the establishment of a renewable energy supply and the introduction of sustainable mobility concepts are increasingly perceived as risks and are associated with uncertainties. It is all the more important to develop new models and strategies for sustainable and inclusive progress, which at the same time secure the natural resources and thus the foundations of a continuously growing world population. This requires systemic thinking and coherent methods. Scenarios enable us to also consider complex and unexpected interactions and thus develop new and resilient options that open up robust solutions for global challenges.

For this purpose, Thinking Circular® and the DLR-PT integrate the research institutes of the DLR in a topic-specific manner, thereby offering scientifically sound foundations for an open-ended discourse among variable stakeholder groups. The Earth observation data from DLR in particular open up a view of the global dimensions. Together with IQIB, the Institute for qualifying Innovation Research and Consulting GmbH, we use a broad portfolio of methods for strategy and scenario development.

For Thinking Circular® and the DLR-PT, Eveline Lemke and Dr. Cornelia Riess will be in Davos to present the offer for scientific support for the necessary transformation.
